Hijas de Internet — Digital Rights and AI Literacy

I co-founded Hijas de Internet

A women's collective advocating for a safer, more diverse, and inclusive Internet. We do research, create content, and run workshops on feminism, digital rights, and AI literacy; our podcast has 6 seasons and 8,000+ streams on Spotify.

Our latest season, Descifrando la IA: a guide to understanding and questioning artificial intelligence, is now published: a podcast, a workshop series, and an open-source wiki that explain, in Spanish, how AI works, its biases, and its social and environmental impacts. You can listen to the full season and explore the wiki.

AI Infrastructure, Energy & Environmental Impacts

My master's thesis explored AI Infrastructure Energy in the EU

I used data science methods to estimate the energy consumption and environmental impacts of data centres in the EU, and analyzed how their growing energy demand challenges European climate commitments. The thesis won the Hertie School poster competition and I presented it at the AI + Environment Summit 2025.

At the Weizenbaum Institute in Berlin, I was a research assistant in the Digital Economy and Internet Policy research group, contributing data analysis, visualization, literature reviews, and proofreading to 2 peer-reviewed research papers. I also worked on research into Big Tech's environmental commitments and claims.

Data Science & Policy Research

I've worked with civil society organizations, think tanks, and research institutes

For more than 7 years I have coordinated research teams, built data pipelines, and translated data into policy recommendations.

I coordinated research projects evaluating the performance of Mexico's criminal justice institutions, automating reporting in R and Python and turning the analysis into public recommendations. The latest edition, IEDF 2026 (State Prosecution Performance Index), is now published with an interactive dashboard covering all 32 states.
